UniPhi 16 - Track Changes

Yesterdays blog post referenced a strange new icon in the UniPhi 16 release.

Today we can explain that this icon is the new track changes button.
This major new features of  UniPhi 16 allows users to see the changes made between revisions of a document.

Version control has been a core feature of UniPhi since 2005 but apart from seeing superseded and new files uploaded into a UniPhi template, seeing what had change had not been possible. How could we fairy bread this?

Well, throughout the past year we have been working on a track changes feature. This button is available when you enter a document and select an older version of it and can be found at the top left side of the control panel. By clicking on it users will be able to turn the track features functionality on and off.

When activated users will see what has been added, highlighted in green, and what has been deleted, highlighted in red (as shown below).

A full demonstration of how to access this feature can be viewed in the video below:

Thanks to the various doc control teams that received this feature early (when it couldn't be turned off) and gave us feedback that lead to the quirkiest icon in the UniPhi application. This feature and most of 16 is already available in our early adopters program.
