UniPhi 19 Feature: Data Capture Efficiencies

One of the ongoing challenges to the creation of web applications is the streamlining of data capture. Desktop applications such as MS Excel and Word have been built for flexibility in data capture and manipulation. However, the unstructured nature of this data capture complicates the consolidation and analysis capability. Similarly the challenges of sharing and collaborating with these files quickly eliminates the productiveness of these solutions.

The UniPhi development team are constantly implementing new features to improve the efficiency of data capture. Recent additions include a copy/paste from excel function that operates across the platform for importing new projects, cashflow, risks, contract deliverables, resource plans, contacts and more.

UniPhi 19 continues this efficiency drive with the addition of our new copy custom fields feature. This feature provides one click copy capability that cascades the meta data captured in project custom fields of a parent project to its underlying children. This is a key improvement as this meta data is used to support core bench-marking capabilities in the platform. As such, the need to enter the same meta data for each project within a program can lead to typo errors that flow through to inaccurate bench-marking. The potential of this is no more with UniPhi 19.

Your parent project information will be accurately shared across all project levels with this new Copy Custom Fields feature in UniPhi 19.

Workation!

This is Panos. Not the guy at the back, that's Caleb intensely collaborating with Mitch. Panos is the guy with the smug smile sitting down. He's part of our brilliant software development team and next week he is going to be working from BALI!

Yep, BALI.

Now you know why he's smiling like that.

How'd this happen? Well, one day a few months back, Panos comes into the office and casually says to our system architect Murray,  "I'm going to go to Bali in July to work for 5 weeks so I can experience life there".

"OK" Murray said and that was that.
Until our CEO Mark Heath found out; and when he did? He said.......

"Ok".
And this is the way things are here, at UniPhi, which may also explain why the average employee's tenure is 10 years.

UniPhi is a fun, flexible place to work. If you're interested in this kind of work life plus Our Vision that we are the best of the best work anywhere, cloud based portfolio and project management software.  Then please contact us and tell us why you would be a great fit with UniPhi.

Oh and here's where your career could take you, with Management's "Ok".

UniPhi 19 Feature: Issue workflows - Change management made simple

Change management can be a big issue and complex to navigate. It is often a challenge for a project team member to know who exactly should be notified of an issue that has occurred during their work on a project. The result is a cc list on an email longer than the project team. The resulting email reply chain can drive people to despair. Added to this is the need to log all these issues in a register to ensure they are not missed in reviews and are closed out as the project progresses.

UniPhi's issues module has always been a great module to resolve these issues (pardon the pun) with integration to Outlook and cloud based collaboration enabling each issue to be tracked in one location. The resulting register is automatic and can be tracked with ease. However, this module did not assist in the accurate allocation of that work. UniPhi 19's new workflow feature streamlines the escalation process, making sure the key people and only the key people are being notified about an issue.

The key benefit of this feature is the certainty and accuracy of tasks and communication, that the right people are aware of the change and their responsibilities. For example, you can now differentiate between design, cost, or time issues with different resources being notified based off a series of questions asked of the end user.

Book your upgrade for this must have feature, to enjoy simple and effective change management.

UniPhi Celebrates EOFY

UniPhi streaks across the EOFY finish line

Our CEO Mark Heath loves a flutter now and then, so an appropriate reference and UniPhi feeling for June 2023, a very successful month.

With another financial year closed, the UniPhi team gathers to celebrate our fantastic accomplishments, despite the challenging economic and working climate.

With the latest version of UniPhi finally released, the onboarding of several new clients that we are excited to be working with, the sponsorship of the Project controls expo in 2 countries, and so much more, the team has a lots to be proud of.

As per usual, we will be celebrating over our monthly lunch. Unfortunately, as flu season kicks in, a number of the team is out for the count but we will eat extra food on their behalf!

July 2023 - despite flu season, we have the UniPhi jettsetters club commencing with our own CEO flying out Saturday 8 July.  Two of our developers are off to the UK and Bali.  Watch this space for the Bali series as he works and lives there for 5 weeks. Great work life balance at UniPhi.

UniPhi 19 Feature: Columns, columns and more columns!

Going with the theme of usability, the first UniPhi 19 feature we want to share is the Edit Columns button. UniPhi recognises that not all portfolios are run the same! What may be relevant to some, might be irrelevant to others.

You can now configure the columns on the Summary, Issues, and Risks modules to have as many or as few columns as you like.

Add/Remove columns

Once you have customised the columns to your liking, you can also rearrange the columns in any order that makes sense to you. Simply drag and drop the column headings to the appropriate spot on the page.
