UniPhi 14.1 - New outlook integration

One of the exciting new things to be released on 31st October is a new and improved outlook add-in. Our old plugin has served us well and is now 10 years old. It has been used extensively by our clients to create issues and documents from emails and track correspondence to and fro in relation to the issue/activity/document. The new add-in has a completely different look and feel, bringing it in to line with our upgraded web application interface.

The new add-in serves the same purpose but is a whole lot sexier in doing so, including:

1) Support for both web or thick client, enabling you to save issues from your browser or on the desktop.

2) Deployed through Office 365 marketplace, making it easier to distribute to our end users. Just browse the marketplace and add.

3) Remembers what emails you've saved so you can click through and see the updated status of the issue/document from within Outlook.

4) Threads conversations so there's less noise in the comment of the issue

5) Strips images that are embedded as email signatures making the related files of an issue and uploaded files of a document more relevant.

Images in emails are stripped from the file attachments.

6) Supports 64-bit outlook

And the even more exciting thing is that this is just the beginning with the platform providing us a host of round two improvements including:

• Support for mobile
• Automatically adding email replies as comments to the linked issue/document
• Selecting which attachments to add to the issue/document
• And much more once end users get to tell us what they want.
